Yusuke Watanabe is a Japanese law licensed bengoshi and member of the real estate team of Greenberg Traurig. He has experience advising international cross border investors and domestic Japanese institutions in a broad array of real estate transactional matters across all major real estate asset classes. He assists clients in all phases of projects and ventures from due diligence, to development planning and construction, to operations and management. In addition to real estate matters, Yusuke also advises clients in general corporate, finance, labor and employment, space law and regulatory compliance matters. He not only supports the transactional practices of the firm, but his versatile knowledge and experience also enables him to support the litigation and disputes practices of the firm, particularly in real estate related matters and ventures.

Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Yusuke worked at one of Japan’s leading domestic law firms where he assisted clients in real estate, general corporate, commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance matters.

The Japanese government is aware of the challenges in securing funds for drug development within Japan’s biopharmaceutical startup ecosystem, especially compared to Europe and the United States. The Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development has established a program to support biopharmaceutical startups involved in developing patentable pharmaceuticals and regenerative medicine products and therapeutics.
