While a down year compared to all-time highs experienced in 2021 and 2022, 2023 represented another strong year in the U.S. venture community based on deal flow and total investments, even if not shared equally among all venture-backed companies and all stages of companies.

Preston Barclay is an associate in the Corporate practice group in Greenberg Traurig’s New York office. Preston focuses his practice primarily on emerging company and venture capital matters, mergers and acquisitions, business combinations (including special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) transactions), commercial transactions, and general corporate governance issues, primarily representing start-ups, growth and later-stage venture-backed private companies, and venture and strategic investors. In addition, Preston advises clients in the gaming industry on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. Preston also has pro bono experience representing not-for-profits with corporate formation and other general corporate matters.

Prior to private practice, Preston served as Associate Counsel at DraftKings Inc., primarily working on corporate and commercial transactions.
