On Nov. 5, 2014, the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP hosted a delegation from Portugal-based Venture Capital and Private Equity firm, Portugal Ventures, as part of a roadshow of the Massachusetts technology ecosystem. The educational program focused on legal issues that early-stage foreign companies face when entering the U.S. market. Presenters and topics included:
- Terence P. McCourt, Boston managing shareholder of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig and chairman of the Boston office’s Labor & Employment practice, welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the firm.
- David J. Dykeman, Boston patent attorney and shareholder, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Life Sciences & Medical Technology Group and co-chair of the firm’s IP Group in Boston, served as the panel moderator.
- Barbara A. Jones, shareholder in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Group, discussed corporate formation and governance issues.
- Roman Fayerberg, Boston patent attorney and firm associate, presented on the fundamentals of IP and patent protection strategy for early stage high-tech companies, and provided best practices to develop, protect and monetize IP assets in the era of U.S. and European patent reform
